In a threatening response to President Macron’s role in organizing more nations to recognize a Palestinian State, on Sept. 20, the Pro-Israel website i24 is now claiming that the Islamic State has taken to the pages of their magazine al-Naba, to call for “lone wolf attacks” against “Christians and Jews” in Europe, “particularly in France.”
According to Le Figaro, which ostensibly reviewed the document, ISIS is urging its supporters to “strike by all means”: vehicles, knives, firearms, or fire. These calls are accompanied by explicit threats, citing past attacks in Paris and Brussels as examples to follow.
In France, these calls are taken very seriously by the intelligence services. Researcher Marc Hecker of the French Institute of International Relations points out that France is a prime target of supposed “jihadist propaganda.” According to him, French laws on secularism are being used as evidence of “institutionalized Islamophobia,” and even as “a war against Islam.”
