The [Wall Street Journal reported on Sept. 29](https://www.wsj.com/politics/national-security/pentagon-pushes-to-double-missile-production-for-potential-china-conflict-ee153ad3 that the Pentagon is pushing missile makers “to double or even quadruple” production, citing fears of depleted arsenals. The newspaper adds that this is “in preparation for a potential conflict with China,” citing officials familiar with the matter. The Department of Defense launched the drive in June, they report, when it invited top missile makers to a Pentagon roundtable.
