Wagenknecht Associate at Chinese Conference

The 12th annual Xiangshan (Fragrant Hills—historic site for communist Party) took place in Beijing from Sept. 17-19. Some 1,800 military strategists, politicians, diplomats, academics from 100 countries attended. The only German to attend was Sahra Wagenknecht foreign policy expert Sevim Dagdelen. In an interview with the Berliner Zeitung, Dagdelen compared the meeting with the Munich Security Conference. In Munich one sees a grand trans-Atlantic parade concluding new arms sales. At the Xiangshan Conference, the focus was on peaceful conflict resolution and mutual security mechanisms with the participation of smaller countries.

Dagdelen took part in the panel discussion “Victory over the global anti-Fascist War and the International Order.” She said that the statement coming from EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas questioning the role of China and the Soviet Union in ending the World War II as an disgusting insult to the 20 million Chinese who died. As far as she knew Germany and the EU had been invited.
