Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke by phone with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun on Oct. 7 at the latter’s request. The new government in Seoul under President Lee Jae Myung has opened up to China, including the mutual granting of visa free visitation.
Wang noted that South Korea and China will host the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in 2025 and 2026 respectively.
