According to ZDF’s correspondent in Brussels, the so-called Coalition of the Willing has reluctantly accepted territorial concessions for peace in Ukraine. This is a radical shift from the position of “sacred territorial integrity” so far pushed by the EU as a non-negotiable condition. The ZDF correspondent, with scarcely concealed Schadenfreude, indicated that this was simply imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Brussels.
Put this together with the choice of Hungary as place for the next Trump-Putin meeting and you have the coming, well-deserved Nemesis for the Warhawks. Remember, as Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán started his mediation effort for a negotiated peace, his effort was openly sabotaged and he was ostracized by the EU, which disavowed his effort. Orbán is taking his revenge now.
