Dmitriev Says Russia and China Are Working on 86 Different Projects Worth 18 Trillion Rubles

Kirill Dmitriev, the head of Russian Direct Investment Fund, in a message on his Telegram channel, noted that China and Russia were presently working on 86 different projects worth a total of 18 trillion rubles—about $225 billion. These include industry, petrochemicals, metallurgy, agriculture, and fertilizer production. According to Dmitriev, more than 50 projects have been implemented to date, with an investment volume of over 800 billion rubles ($10 billion). He attributed this result to systematic and long-term efforts to strengthen bilateral economic ties. While Western sanctions have put a damper on some activity, the general dynamic is still moving forward. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will be traveling to China this week for the 30th regular meeting between the Chinese and Russian heads of government.
