While leading a delegation from Russia to brief his counterparts in the U.S. administration, Russia’s Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev also met with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) over the weekend..
Back on Oct. 8, in the week before Luna was provided with the 386-page Russian file on the JFK assassination by Russia’s Ambassador Alexander Darchiev, Luna had left a comment on a post by Dmitriev. He had posted news on a declassified CIA document which implicated then-Vice President Joe Biden in suppressing a U.S. intelligence report on corrupt dealings in Ukraine. In Luna’s comment, she expressed a desire to meet Dmitriev.
He agreed and she announced on X: “I have officially confirmed the meeting with… Kirill Dmitriev, which will take place at the end of this month… My colleagues and I are looking forward to this meeting.” She also noted that Moscow and Washington should not be at enmity, and this, according to her, is understood by many Americans and members of the U.S. Congress. She stated that maintaining an open interstate dialogue is very important for strengthening peace.
Dmitriev then replied on X that he welcomed the negotiations with Luna, whom he thanked for her courageous position in favor of peace and dialogue. The next day, Oct. 9, Dmitriev noted the importance of mutual understanding between the Russian Federation and the United States for maintaining interstate dialogue and also expressed hope that the upcoming meeting with Luna would be full of constructive discussions.
