U.S. President Trump Says ‘BRICS Was an Attack on the Dollar’; Trump Tariffs Aim at Shutting Down BRICS

During his Oct. 14 meeting at the White House with Argentina’s President Javier Milei, U.S. President Donald Trump asserted that “BRICS was an attack on the dollar.” He stated that as a result of the tariffs he applied on the BRICS nations, that they “are all dropping out of BRICS,” and that there now is a “world domination by the dollar.” The view of U.S. President seems to be in discrepancy with reality.

In response to a question, Trump said: “I like the dollar. And anybody who likes to deal in dollars has an advantage over people that aren’t. But for the most part, we’re keeping it that way. I think if Biden, I mean that group, would have gotten elected [in 2024], meaning Kamala, you wouldn’t have the dollar as your currency any more. You wouldn’t have had a world domination by the dollar, if I didn’t win this election.

“And now, anybody who wants to be in BRICS, that’s fine, but we’re going to put tariffs on your nation. Everybody dropped out; they’re all dropping out of BRICS. BRICS was an attack on the dollar. And I said, ‘You want to play that game, I’m going to put tariffs on all of your product coming into the U.S.’ And like I said, they’re all dropping out of BRICS. And BRICS is like, they don’t even talk about it anymore.”
