A delegation led by Stephen Hadley, the vice chairman of the Atlantic Council, met with Vice Premier He Lifeng in the Great Hall of the People on Nov. 20. He Lifeng stated that the successful meeting between the Chinese and American leaders in Busan, South Korea charted the course for the future development of bilateral economic and trade relations. He expressed the hope that the Atlantic Council would play a positive role in promoting the stable development of bilateral economic and trade relations. He also described what had occurred at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party, where they had laid the groundwork for the next Five Year Plan.
