The usual “multiple sources familiar with the meetings at the White House” have informed CBS News that on Nov. 12, senior military officials “presented President Trump with updated options for potential operations in Venezuela, including strikes on land.” No official comments for the record were available from either the Pentagon or the White House, according to CBS News’ midday report on Nov. 13.
The President was briefed the day after the U.S. Southern Command announced that as of Nov. 11, the U.S.’s largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald Ford, is officially in the area of the Atlantic which falls under its responsibility, and is presumably steaming towards Venezuela.
