Under the slogan, “Germany must not become capable of war, but rather of peace,” anti-war protesters will take to the streets of Germany on Dec. 5, to mobilize the public against the return of the mandatory military draft and against Germany’s planned rearmament as a whole. This was decided by peace organizations, labor unionists, church officials, along with other initiatives, at the conclusion of their Nov. 8-9 national convention in Kassel.
An excerpt of Kassel Declaration states:
“The massive expansion of wars and geopolitical conflicts threatens to become a growing danger of a major war, including a nuclear one. Resistance to these wars and colonial exploitation is necessary internationally and must be carried out jointly.
