At the ceremonial installation of the reactor vessel for Egypt’s El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, in which he took part remotely, Russian President Vladimir Putin said: “Russia will continue supporting its Egyptian partners throughout the entire life cycle of the nuclear project. This applies to long-term supplies of reactor fuel, nuclear power plant maintenance, and spent nuclear material management.”
Rosatom is ready to share its unique technologies, including the assembly of small modular reactors, and the use of peaceful nuclear energy in medicine and agriculture, with Egypt and others, Putin added. His attendance at the El Dabaa ceremony also underlines Russia’s commitment to assist in the nuclear power development in the rest of Africa. Rosatom is already involved in numerous African states, working on deals of varying status.
