Russia Remains Confused About U.S. Stance on Nuclear Testing

Following a meeting of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) on Nov. 10, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Vienna-based international organizations, said the U.S. stance on nuclear tests remains opaque. “At today’s meeting of the Preparatory Commission for the CTBT, the United States again failed to explain its position on nuclear tests,” Ulyanov wrote on his Telegram channel.

“Instead, the U.S. delegation focused on technical and financial issues and accused Russia of allegedly conducting nuclear tests (without any proof, as usual). Sad and quite strange,” he concluded.
