Russia's Foreign Intelligence Claims U.K. Planning 'Russiagate 2.0' To Handle Trump

Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), in today’s release, “How London Makes Money on the War in Ukraine,” first identified the war producers “BAE Systems and Thales UK” as the “locomotive” of Britain’s “once-troubled enterprises of the military-industrial complex of the kingdom” and the key to save Britain from bankruptcy. Then it argued (in translation):

“London, however, fears that plans to continue to make money on the blood of Ukrainians may be disrupted by D. Trump’s peacekeeping activity. In this case, the British have prepared a ‘safety option.’ It is envisaged, in particular, to bring down Trump’s mood for resolving the conflict by discrediting it. Plans have been concocted to revive the fake ‘dossiers’ of former British intelligence officer [Christopher] Steele, accusing the head of the White House and members of his family of having ties with Soviet and Russian special services.”

Despite such a prepared safety option, the SVR judges that “Trump will put his allies in their place for trying to use phony and already refuted insinuations,” making it unlikely that the British would “be able to ‘step into the same river twice.’” And, regardless, the SVR forecasts, “the development of the situation in the theater of operations” in Ukraine “will mean the British will have to look elsewhere “for the blood money earned in Ukraine.”
