Tucker Carlson Blasts the 'Israel First' Attempted Takeover of Republican Party

On Nov. 13, talk show host Tucker Carlson held a [special monologue](https://tuckercarlson.com/tucker-show-ana-kasparian-2 ) which featured a discussion of the ongoing debate over Israel, and how it fits into the “America First” movement in the U.S. Carlson’s comments on this issue underscore the fact that there is a “raging debate,” as he described it, within the political right in the country, a fight which Carlson said has been ongoing since Trump’s inauguration.

Carlson described how Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu was the first foreign leader to visit Trump after his inauguration—not because of any particularly warm relations between the two, but because Netanyahu wanted to secure America’s support for Israel’s desire to carry out regime-change in Iran. That may be an understandable interest on the part of Israel, Carlson noted, but what if you’re an American? Rather than allow these topics to be left open to a healthy debate, pro-Israel zealots like Mark Levin and Ben Shapiro have devolved into labeling those who question any of this as “antisemites.” Levin recently called Carlson, along with other conservative commentators Candace Owens, Meghan Kelly, and Steve Bannon, “Marxist, Islamist, America-hating, Jew-hating thugs.”

Carlson even compares today’s pro-Israel fanaticism to the anti-Putin fanaticism that has infected Washington for recent years.
