On Sunday, Nov. 23, EU, U.S., and Ukrainian officials met in Geneva, Switzerland to discuss the U.S.’s 28-point peace plan for Ukraine. Special envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were in attendance from the U.S. side, and Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak and National Security Council Secretary Rustem Umerov attended from the Ukrainian side. The delegation also met with European national security advisors to discuss the plan, which Rubio claimed was intended to get their input.
At the end of the day, Rubio told reporters that it was “probably the most productive day we’ve had” on this subject since President Donald Trump’s coming into office earlier this year. Nonetheless, “there’s still some work to be done.”
