China-Russia Strategic Security Consultation, Agree on Japan Crisis

China and Russia held the 20th round of strategic security consultation on Dec. 2 in Moscow, concluding with a “new consensus and enhanced strategic mutual trust,” according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry. The Global Times report emphasizes that the two sides reached a “high degree of consensus on Japan-related issues,” although it does not report the detail of that agreement, other than that they agreed no country can “whitewash the history of colonial aggression,” and that both sides agree to “firmly counter the attempts by fascism and Japanese militarism to stage a comeback.”
