Cost-cutting Volkswagen Management Keeps Plan To Fire 35,000

According to information from the company, CEO Oliver Blume said at a staff meeting yesterday in Wolfsburg, that if the group wants to continue to earn money with its vehicles and remain competitive in the future, “costs must continue to be consistently optimized.”

Blume emphasized how important it is to align the group more closely with the requirements of the future and the “reality of the market.” This requires, he claimed, a “comprehensive restructuring” program.
