Various news media are reporting on a claim by Israel’s KAN News that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met secretly with former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair last week about the Trump Peace Proposal for Gaza, whose governing board includes Blair. The reports claim that Blair was proposing that the Palestinian Authority be given control over certain areas of the Gaza Strip, initially as a pilot program, to become permanent if it is successful. While Netanyahu’s office hasn’t confirmed the report, KAN News claims that Blair’s initiative was not dismissed outright by Israel. The move would also be conditional on reforms within the PA.
It is also reported that Blair held talks with several Arab states on the matter as well.
