Financial Times reports on Dec. 11 that British bankers have pushed back against plans to use the frozen Russian assets they hold to fund a loan for Ukraine. “We’re concerned about the legality.… [T]he government is setting a new precedent because they have never seized assets in this type of way,” one senior banker said. “Russia will sue for them.”
