Florence Gaub, an analyst at the NATO Military Academy in Rome, who took part, on Dec. 8 in Berlin, in the 21st Symposium of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, said there needs to be more closeness between the German population and the intelligence services, and that, TV series could help.
France has shown with formats such as “Le Bureau des Légendes” (“The Bureau” TV series) how “entertainment” can break down “barriers” between citizens and secret services. Similar movies exist about the British intelligence services MI5 and MI6 (e.g., James Bond movies), but none about German services so far, Gaub noted.
