Kansas Cattlemen's Association Resolution Calls for Glass-Steagall

The Kansas Cattlemen’s Association, representing the interests of state ranchers and the livestock sector since the 1990s, passed a resolution some years back, calling on Congress to restore the Glass-Steagall Act. Below is the full text. Resolutions, which remain in effect for two years, are put to a membership vote at the annual KCA convention, usually in November each year. RE-ENACT GLASS-STEAGALL LAW FOR SOUND BANKING AND CREDIT TO REBUILD THE NATION

Whereas, there is imminent danger or another financial blow-out, bigger than 2009, because nothing was done to fix the underlying dynamic of uncontrolled mega-bank speculation; our nation won’t survive more bail-outs and consolidation; and
