Popularity of Leaders of France and Germany at Historic Low

A survey commissioned by France’s LCI television network from the Toluna/Harris Interactive polling institute shows that French President Emmanuel Macron is more unpopular than ever, since his election as President in 2017. Just 25% of French people reportedly have a positive opinion of Macron.

According to the poll, the leader of the right-wing populist Rassemblement National (RN), Jordan Bardella, enjoys the highest approval rating: 42% have a positive opinion of him. He is followed by RN parliamentary group leader Marine Le Pen, with 39%, and the leader of the conservative Les Républicains (LR) Bruno Retailleau with 30% approval.
