Thyssen Steel Suspends Production at Two Sites

Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe is temporarily halting production of a product in which it is actually a technological leader, namely “grain-oriented electrical steel,” which to a large extent is used in wind power facilities. Actual construction of new wind power is low at present, and energy costs are too high to keep full production going. So much for the ostensible “benefits of sustainability” that Thyssen Steel has tried to pioneer.
