Ukrainian acting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy published a Christmas Eve video on his Telegram channel and on X, in which he wished Ukrainians a happy Christmas, while expressing the view that many Ukrainians wish for a certain unnamed person—presumably Russian President Vladimir Putin—"to perish,” before Zelenskyy urged everyone to pray for peace. “‘May he perish,’ each of us may think to ourselves,” said Ukraine’s acting president. “But when we turn to God, of course, we ask for something greater.”
