Car Slams into Chabad-Lubovitch World HQ in Brooklyn

Wednesday night, Jan. 28, a vehicle with New Jersey plates repeatedly slammed into the doors of the Chabad-Lubovitch World Headquarters in Brooklyn. No one was injured, and New York police officers who were nearby were able to quickly apprehend the male driver, who is from Carteret, New Jersey. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime.

In a statement late Wednesday night, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said: “This is deeply alarming, especially given the deep meaning and history of the institution. Any threat to a Jewish institution must be taken seriously. Antisemitism has no place in our city. I stand in solidarity with the Crown Heights Jewish community.”
