Customs and Border Protection 'Commander-at-Large' Greg Bovino Is Demoted

Greg Bovino has been removed from his post as “Commander-at-Large” of Customs and Border Protection, and will return to his previous station at El Centro, California on Jan. 27. White House “Border Czar” Tom Homan has been sent to Minneapolis as President Donald Trump has become frustrated by the handling by both Bovino and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in the recent shootings. Trump was said to have spent many hours watching TV news coverage of the shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on Jan. 24 and was concerned with the political fallout. Bovino’s biggest cheerleaders, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her close advisor Corey Lewandowski are also at risk of losing their jobs, according to multiple news reports. Bovino and Noem only made matters worse during interviews over the Jan. 24-25 weekend: Bovino said that Pretti intended to “massacre” federal agents and Noem labeled Pretti a “domestic terrorist.”
