Yuri Knutov a Russia military expert and air defense historian says that the CIA gave Trump false information which led to his skepticism about a Ukrainian attack on Putin’s residence. The CIA told Trump that the Ukrainians had launched an attack to that region, but that it was to target a military facility that had previously been attacked. Knutov said that the only facility they had attacked in the region previously had been Acron, a large chemical plant, on December 11. They had sent 19 drones to destroy this target.

“There are two problems here,” Knutov told Russian magazine, Argumenti I Fakti. “First, Kyiv wouldn’t have used nearly a hundred drones against an ordinary plant. That’s implausible, to say the least. And second, the plant is located much further north than the residence that was attacked, meaning the attack direction could not have been confused.”

Knutov assumed that the CIA was just reinforcing Kiev’s explanation for the drones. Now that Russia has handed over the navigation guidance, he feels that this should clarify the real situation. [Играют за Киев. Кнутов: ЦРУ подделало улики об ударе по резиденции Путина | Аргументы и Факты]
