Graham Fuller died on Jan. 29 after fighting serious health problems affecting his heart. He was 89. Graham’s two daughters (and perhaps other family members) were with him over the past week. His passing was mourned by Nima Alkhorshid, an Iranian engineer who has worked from Brazil conducting interviews with leading political spokesmen from around the world, for a blog with a huge following, who has hosted Fuller nearly every week for many months,
Fuller had been a frequent speaker on the weekly International Peace Coalition (IPC) meetings, initiated by Helga Zepp-LaRouche, often appearing with his longtime friend Ray McGovern. Fuller and McGovern were both high-level officials of the CIA, in Fuller’s case, a specialist on Islamic countries and Islamic culture. He served in the U.S. State Department and in the CIA in posts in Germany, Türkiye, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, North Yemen, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. Fuller was Kabul CIA Station Chief until 1978, when he was appointed CIA National Intelligence Officer for Near East and South Asia in 1982.
