Iran's Foreign Minister Called Abduction of Maduro 'State Terrorism'

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the U.S.’ military aggression against Venezuela and reiterated Tehran’s firm support for the Venezuelan people and their elected government, during a Jan. 3 night phone call with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil Pinto, reported Tasnim.

Araghchi strongly condemned the U.S. military aggression against Venezuela and the abduction of the country’s legitimate president and his spouse. He also described the move as a clear instance of state terrorism and an overt violation of Venezuela’s sovereignty and the national will of its people. He emphasized Iran’s support for the people and the elected government of Venezuela.
