MILAN, Jan. 29, 2026 (EIRNS)—Liliana Gorini, chairwoman of Movisol, Lyndon LaRouche’s movement in Italy, added her voice to the many who are protesting the presence of ICE agents at the Winter Olympics in Italy, in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. In a statement entitled “ICE Out of Italy,” she quoted Diane Sare’s interview with Coleen Rowley on the dehumanization of these forces, and the risk it creates for the security of Italian citizens, after murdering two American ones. She quotes Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, who, instead, is not worried and declared, “They are not the SS.”
“I would not be so sure,” writes Gorini, adding that the Meloni government has been a servant to U.S. President Donald Trump for too long. As Mayor Giuseppe Sala of Milan said, “They are not welcome in Milan, they kill people. Can we for once say no?” The Italian Bishops’ Conference also made a statement against ICE, demanding that “security may be kept by Italian law enforcement agencies” only. On Saturday, Jan. 31, demonstrations against ICE are planned in Milan.
