Over the Jan. 10-11 weekend more than 1,000 protest events are scheduled “in every corner of every state” with the title, “ICE Out For Good Weekend of Action.” Leah Greenberg, one of the main organizers for the events explained the goals: “We demand justice for Renee, ICE out of our communities and action from our elected leaders. Enough is enough.” These events are being promoted by the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, the 50501 Movement ("50 protests, 50 states, one day"), but the lead organization appears to be Indivisible, which has received over $7.6 million from George Soros’s Open Society Foundation. Indivisible has promoted other national protests such as the April, 2025 “Hands Off” protests, the June 2025 “No Kings” protests, and protests at many Tesla car dealerships. Indivisible claims to model itself after the Tea Party which, starting in 2008, used local activism to block the Obama agenda.
