South Korean President Lee Jae-myung brought a major delegation of about 200 business leaders on his Jan. 4-7 state visit to China. Among them, reports Global Times, are the “four most prominent South Korean conglomerates—Samsung Electronics, SK Group, Hyundai Motor Group and LG Group.” They all attended a meeting of the China-South Korea Business Forum.
South Korea’s JoongAng newspaper reported that Hyundai Motor Group Chairperson Chung Eui-sun said on Jan. 5 that although sales and production have significantly decreased in the Chinese market, “we plan to increase them again with a humble attitude.” The severe tension between China and South Korea during the former Seoul government of President Yoon Suk Yeol led to a general decline in economic cooperation.
