There are now at least 53 Democrats in Congress who have co-signed legislation by Chicago-area Congresswoman Robin Kelly introducing articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. The effort has especially broad support from elected officials in all levels of government in Minnesota, where Renee Nicole Good was murdered on Jan. 7 by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross.
The articles of impeachment are set to be formally introduced on Jan. 14, and accuse Noem of three counts:
1. Obstruction of Congress by denying access to ICE detention facilities from Congressional delegations, and withholding Congressionally appropriated funds for disaster relief.
