Trump Takes His Bloodlust to Cuba—Regime Change by the End of 2026

In his insane drive to reshape the Western Hemisphere—or the world for that matter—U.S. President Donald Trump has decided that “regime change” must be on the agenda for Cuba by no later than the end of 2026, according to people familiar with internal deliberations, who were interviewed by the Wall Street Journal. Trump’s bloodlust knows no bounds. For more than 60 years, Cuba has suffered from a U.S. economic blockade, which the Cubans call genocide, due to the great hardship inflicted on the Cuban people’s daily lives.

In his first administration, 2016-2020, and now in his second, Trump’s team, led on Jan. 22 by Cuban-American Secretary of State “Narco” Rubio, who is obsessed with overturning the Cuban government, is determined to asphyxiate the island economically, denying it food, medicine, and energy, especially oil. Trump intensified sanctions on Cuba during his first term, such that his bloodthirsty Secretary of State Mike Pompeo boasted, as he walked out the door in January 2021, that he had successfully “strangled” Cuba.

According to the Journal account, Trump officials are reportedly looking for Cuban government insiders willing to make a deal with Washington, just as “an insider” in the Maduro government in Venezuela supposedly assisted Washington in kidnapping the Venezuelan President and his wife Cilia Flores. White House officials are said to be convinced that Cuba is nearing an economic breaking point, judging from the severe shortages of basic goods, constant electrical blackouts, and the loss of Venezuelan oil. Emboldened by the “success” of the Venezuelan operation, Trump appears certain that the Cuban government can also be ousted or forced to make a deal—a gross misestimation of the Cuban leadership and the island’s political and military structure.
