U.S. National Defense Strategy for U.S. Imperialism in the Western Hemisphere

The 2026 National Defense Strategy, released by the Pentagon on Jan. 23, makes domination of the Western Hemisphere in the name of “Homeland Security,” the number-one priority in its chapter, “The Security Environment.”

“For decades, America’s foreign policy establishment neglected our nation’s Homeland defenses. This was partly due to the view that such defenses were no longer necessary,” it complains. “But it was also informed by an increasing desire on the part of Washington decisionmakers to ease border controls and facilitate the illegal migration of people and the unchecked, unfair flow of goods,” it adds in a not-so-veiled swipe at previous Democratic Administrations.
