Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel expressed sincere gratitude to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum after two Mexican Naval vessels carrying humanitarian aid arrived at the port of Havana Feb. 12. In a posting to X he wrote “thank you dear Claudia Sheinbaum. This humanitarian aid from our Mexican brothers isn’t just material cargo. In it comes the solidarity, the friendship and the exemplary history of sovereignty and respect for the rights of others that distinguishes Mexico.”
Minister of Interior Commerce, Betsy Diaz Velasquez, gave her profound thanks to the “President of Mexico, her government, the beloved Mexican people, the institutions that made it possible for this aid to arrive,” the daily Granma reported. Mexico’s aid is appreciated even more, she said, “at a time when we are dealing with our difficulties, when the measures imposed by the U.S. government are deepening and the attempt to asphyxiate us intensifies. We feel supported by Mexico, by its humanity, its solidarity and brotherhood.”
