On Jan. 31, there was an explosion in a building in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas. “The initial cause of the building accident in Bandar Abbas was a gas leak and build-up, leading to an explosion,” fire chief Mohammad Amin Lyaghat said in comments broadcast on state television, reported Al Jazeera. Later it was reported that one person, a young girl, was killed and 14 other people were wounded.
Separately, another explosion in the city of Ahvaz in Iran’s southwest reportedly killed four people. Media reports also attribute it to a gas leak, although further details are scarce.
