On Jan. 31, there was an explosion in a building in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas. “The initial cause of the building accident in Bandar Abbas was a gas leak and buildup, leading to an explosion,” fire chief Mohammad Amin Lyaghat said in comments broadcast on state television, reported Al Jazeera. Later it was reported that one person, a young girl, was killed and 14 other people were wounded.

Separately, another explosion in the city of Ahvaz, in Iran’s southwest, reportedly killed 4 people. Media reports also attribute that to a gas leak, although further details are scarce.
