International Responses to U.S.-Israeli Aggression Against Iran

Some international responses to the U.S.-Israeli aggression on Iran:

• U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the U.K. is participating in the war with “defensive” efforts, and that Iran should refrain from further strikes and cease violence and oppression against its people. He also stressed the importance of preventing further escalation and of returning to a diplomatic process.

• France, Germany, and the U.K. issued a joint statement condemning Iran’s counterattacks and giving de facto support to the U.S.-Israeli aggression. “We condemn Iranian attacks on countries in the region in the strongest terms. Iran must refrain from indiscriminate military strikes,” it said. “We urge the Iranian leadership to seek a negotiated solution. Ultimately, the Iranian people must be allowed to determine their future.”

• In a phone call with United Arab Emirates’ President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman “expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation of the [Iranian] attacks, its full solidarity and support for the United Arab Emirates, and its readiness to place all its capabilities at the disposal of the U.A.E. in all the measures it takes.” Saudi Arabia also expressed similar support to Qatar.

• “I deplore the military strikes across Iran this morning by Israel and the United States of America, and the subsequent retaliatory strikes by Iran,” UN Human Rights chief Volker Turk said in a statement. “As always, in any armed conflict, it is civilians who end up paying the ultimate price.”

• British imperial agent Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, offered support for the U.S.-Israel war, “to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent its regime from further threatening international peace and security.”
