Israel’s genocide in Gaza continues. Israeli strikes pounded Gaza on Wednesday, Feb. 4, killing at least 24 Palestinians, including 2 babies, and straining an already fragile ceasefire deal, hospital officials said, AP reported on Feb. 4. Israel claimed that some of the strikes were launched in response to a militant attack on Israeli soldiers that seriously wounded one.

Deadly Israeli strikes have repeatedly disrupted the truce since it formally took effect on Oct. 10. The escalating Palestinian toll has prompted many in Gaza to say it seems that the war is continuing unabated. Among the Palestinians killed on Feb. 4 were at least five children, seven women, and an on-duty paramedic, AP reported, citing hospital officials. “The genocidal war against our people in the Gaza Strip continues,” said Dr. Mohamed Abu Selmiya, director of Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, in a Facebook post. “Where is the ceasefire? Where are the mediators?”
