In a Feb. 8 press release, the Mexican government announced it is shipping 814 tons of food supplies to Cuba, loaded onto two ships, in response to the blockade imposed on the island by the Trump administration. “Both ships depart today from the port of Veracruz with a cargo of more than 814 tons of food supplies destined for the civilian population of the island of Cuba,” it reported. The two ships are expected to arrive in three days.
The Mexican Navy is responsible for transporting the shipments.
