The next round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, mediated by the U.S., will be held in Geneva, Switzerland on Feb. 17-18, according to the announcement this morning by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Though the site has moved from Abu Dhabi to Geneva, he clarified: “There won’t be any Europeans” involved in the negotiation.

Peskov added that Moscow’s delegation will be led by Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, who had headed the Istanbul negotiations. The two previous sessions in Abu Dhabi had been headed by Adm. Igor Kostyukov, head of the Russian General Staff’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU).
