In a message to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed Russia’s support for Iran, even as massive military and economic pressure on Iran by the United States has grown. According to the Iranian Embassy’s post in the Telegram channel, in the message on Feb. 14 Putin described Russia-Iran relations as friendly and good-neighborly in nature, reported IRNA. He made it clear that Russia would keep supporting the Islamic Republic’s efforts to protect its sovereignty and legitimate interests, as well as ensure its security in the current difficult international situation.
