Congressional Dems Cynically Wager How ‘Iran War’ Can Win or Lose Mid-Term Elections

So where is the U.S. Congress on President Donald Trump’s threat of war with Iran? According to Drop Site News, Democrats are cynically looking for Trump to step into disaster ahead of the mid-term elections. Hill sources told Drop Site that many Democrats remain convinced a war with Iran is both the right policy and politically beneficial for them. The War Powers Resolution sponsored by Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY), will force both Democrats and Republicans to go on the record for or against war when it comes to a vote next week.

Regarding Trump’s calculations, “Sources with knowledge of internal White House deliberations told Drop Site that Trump is emboldened by what he sees as a phenomenal success in his Venezuela strategy—issuing sweeping demands for capitulation under threat of removing the ruling government and then abducting President Nicolás Maduro when he refused to obey,” Drop Site reports. “But, the sources said, Trump and his aides have pressed war planners for assurances that chaos produced by any U.S. military action would calm down in time for the midterm election season to kick into high gear.” In reality, there’s no one who can actually give such assurances.
