U.K. Defense Chief Wants To Send British Troops to Ukraine

Keir Starmer’s British government may be teetering on the edge of collapse, due to the Epstein scandal, but Starmer’s Defense Minister John Healey would be “proud” to send British troops to Ukraine. “I am proud that the U.K. is united for Ukraine. I am proud of the highest-ever level of military support we’re providing this year,” Healey wrote in a Feb. 21 op-ed published in The Telegraph. “We are putting Ukraine in the strongest possible position to achieve a just and lasting peace on their terms. Ukrainians have shown they do not fear Russian aggression. The only thing Ukraine fears is Western fatigue. But as President Zelenskyy knows, Ukraine’s friends will never tire.” He bragged that the most recent Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, which he chaired along with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, generated more than $35 billion in pledges of weapons and military support to the Kiev regime.

“At the same time as we keep Ukraine in the fight today, our planning to secure the peace we hope to see tomorrow is advanced, real and backed by £200 million from this government,” he went on. Referencing the agreement, last month, between Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron to send troops to Ukraine “once peace is secured.”
