To mark the fourth anniversary of war in Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Council President Antonio Costa, prime ministers from Croatia, Latvia, Estonia, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Defense Minister of Lithuania, and the President of Finland arrived by train and rushed to Kiev’s capital square. Unfortunately, in their luggage was not the promised €90 billion of the 20th Russian sanction package—Spain, Italy, Greece, Hungary, and Malta had vetoed it in Brussels on Feb. 23. Therefore the package has to be redone to get the required unanimous backing by all 28 EU member states.
