U.S. President Donald Trump announced in a presidential notice on Feb. 20 that he has extended U.S. sanctions on Russia for another year. The sanctions, which had been set to expire on March 6, had been imposed in a series of executive orders beginning in 2014 in response to, among other things, the annexation of Crimea, the war in the Donbass and the launching of Russia’s special military operation.
