Journalist Emily Brooks of The Hill writes of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tucker Carlson, and Joe Kent that they have become a “shadow MAGA” movement. And says, “Like Frankenstein’s monster, Trump’s MAGA-stein creation is now turning on him—and reshaping the antiestablishment right’s relationship with the GOP.”
Brooks cites a poll alleging that 56% of self-identified MAGA voters believe that President Trump broke his pledge when he started the war with Iran, although more than half of them still support him . She quotes a 35-year-old Pennsylvania woman who said she had voted for Trump three times but still feels squeezed by the “affordability crisis” and concludes, “I guess I’m an idiot.”
