Three American fighter jets were shot down over Kuwait in a friendly fire incident on Monday, as the effects of the U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran continue to spread across the region.
US Central Command said the jets were mistakenly hit by Kuwaiti air defenses during active combat involving Iranian aircraft, missiles, and drones. All six crew members ejected safely.
The shootdowns occurred as Iran has been striking American and allied assets across the region in retaliation for Operation Epic Fury, the U.S.-Israeli military campaign that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday.
