In a 10-minute interview on CBS News with Margaret Brennan on Sunday, March 15, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran “never asked for a ceasefire, and we have never asked even for negotiation.” Iran will defend itself as long as it takes.

Responding to U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s declaration that there would be “no mercy” in the campaign, Araghchi called it a war crime. “Even saying that is a war crime.”

When Brennan asserted that this is a “war of survival” for Iran, Araghchi strongly disagreed, saying Iran is both stable and strong. He also pointed out that they’ve never had a good experience talking with Americans, who decided to attack Iran during negotiations.
